The Synthgene® Syphilis Rapid Test is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies (IgG and IgM) to Treponema pallidum (TP) in human whole blood, serum or plasma. The test requires only a small sample, including finger-prick whole blood, and provides results in approximately 10 minutes without specialized laboratory equipment.
The test is designed to support the detection of antibodies associated with current or previous syphilis infection. Its simple procedure and rapid results make it suitable for point-of-care and other professional testing environments. Reactive results should be interpreted in accordance with applicable clinical guidelines and confirmed where required.
Positive result: Coloured lines appear in both the test (T) and control (C) regions, indicating that antibodies to Treponema pallidum have been detected.
